Mountain Fans Studies
This project deals with the morphometry and sediment properties of
fan-shaped landforms arising from different processes in the South Island
and British Columbia mountain areas. To date, fans associated with fluvial
processes, debris flows and snow avalanching have been studies in the
Cascade Mountains(B.C.) and the Aoraki/Mt Cook and Castle Hill to Cass
areas (S.I.).
Papers on the South Island work are in the N.Z. Geographical Society
22nd Conference Proceedings(2003) and in Earth Surface Processes and
Landforms v. 29, no. 3 (March 2004), pp. 311-322.
