There has been a high quantity and quality of research outputs from the members of the Environment and Health Research Group over a number of years. In the past five years, the group have produced a total of 25 articles in international journals and 13 articles in national journals. All academic members of the research group have presented at a number of international conferences such as the Association of American Geographers Conference (Los Angeles, US), Institute of British Geographers Conference (London, UK) and the Medical Geography Symposium (Manchester, UK). In addition, the academic members of staff are regularly requested to referee articles for international academic journals such as Health and Place, Social Science and Medicine, the Canadian Geographer, Progress in Human Geography, Atmospheric Environment and Health Services Research and Policy. The group has successfully attracted research funding from a range of sources including a three year project (2003-2006) on Air Pollution and Health in New Zealand (HAPiNZ), led by Dr Simon Kingham, funded for $1.04m by the Health Research Council.
