Ryan completed a BA in 2002, a BA (Hons) in 2003, and completed an MSc in 2004. He subsequently completed his PhD at Murdoch University, Western Australia, in 2008
Transport and Land Use Planner - Sinclair Knight Merz
This is a strategic planning role where I prepare transport assessments and plans to support new development in Perth, Western Australia. I have particular involvement with transit oriented development and integrated, multimodal transport planning.
A UC Geography degree was vital to my current appointment as it was a precursor to my wider studies and professional development, giving me a good understanding of transport geography, and the importance of linking research with practice. I continue to work with the University of Canterbury Geography Department in the undertaking of research into the geography of boy racers.
