Research

Current Research interests include:

  • Effectiveness and efficiency of the RMA to meet is aims and objectives for both development and environmental protection.
  • Assessment of Effects in the coastal environment from developments and land-uses, particularly sediment extraction and reduced sediment supply from damming of rivers.
  • Coastal Hazard and Protection Assessment: The identification of coastal erosion and inundation hazard risks from storm surge, tsunami, and climate change, and assessment of potential protection options.
  • Coastal Processes: Mixed sand and gravel beach processes, including river mouth stability, particularly in Canterbury.
